Ok I propose a new game.
Find the cheapest car in NYC. Post your thoughts and risk factor in purchasing said junk.
Two rules.
- Must not be a refrigerator (READ NOT BORNIG)
- Must be risky to own, expensive to repair and insure.
The whole purpose of this game is to actually see what is there. We can expand state to state in the future. Bonus points on anyone who actualy knows about the vehicle in question and knows their weknesses.
EXTRA BONUS - IF mitata or similar you get 100opo points.
Here is a gtv6 for your truble.

Jesus, do they not have separate CL listings for cars and for parts??
Anyway, found this. '95 Explorer Sport, for $400.

Big, slow, soft, comfy. Saw these all over the place when I was in high school.

Speaking from experience, when someone says "needs some body work" when describing a GTV6, it's usually something like

Convertible, and it's a manual. Apparently it overheats. It's German, so that means you'll spend several times what it's worth fixing it.

It's telling when you find a BMW on a flatbead. In this case, it needs a transmission and a head gasket.

This Eclipse needs an engine, which means we can only assume that it was tuned and abused.

Well that is certainly funky. Love it. German FERD!

Cheap to repair too. A rebuilt tranny for those things goes for like 500bucks, or about 200dollar rebuilt kit. Not a bad car.....

The vw is probably suffering from a head gasket or a cracked water jacket.
The BMW would not touch with a 10 foot pole.
The DSM... Burning oil and crank walk. Not a sign of abuse necesarily but 4g63 is not exactly a reliable engine but cheap to rebuild.

Just realized how far away it was, no wonder no one's bought it.

Fiat 2000 spider. Checks off all the boxes, not especially cheap. But it works. It's the cheapest Fiat at least.
I was searching for a Yugo. But that didn't work well.

This one's better.
